Get Your Professional Site
A great looking professional website is essential for running a modern business, but that doesn’t mean you should have to be an expert in web development to have one. As a master of e-commerce, a top chef, a family business owner, or any of the millions of professions that we’re ready to serve, you specialize in the knowledge and skills needed to make your company succeed. We specialize in crafting stunning websites that complement your image and drive sales. Let’s work together.
Here's How It Works
We like to start the process off right, and that means rolling up our sleeves and doing some serious research. That means talking to you in-depth about your business, your goals, your customers, and your expectations from a professional website. It also means analyzing websites in your industry to get a sense of what works and what doesn’t. The time that we spend researching provides us with the knowledge and context necessary to build the website that will best serve your needs.
If your website was a sandwich, the content would be the meat. The written words on your site convey information to your customers, entertain them, and help sell them on your products or services. The content that your website needs also determines the number and types of pages that you need, making this one of the first elements of the site to be produced.
We highly recommend that you use a professional writer to craft your content. An expert in writing web copy will know how to structure text for the web so that it looks attractive, complies with search engine optimization (SEO) best practices, and uses a voice that resonates with your customers. My Freelance Team can connect you with one of our personally vetted professional writers, you can engage one on your own, or you can submit the content to us yourself if you have the aptitude.
The process of crafting the layout and design can begin as soon as we receive a rough outline of the content that will be present on your website. Here, the research that we did in stage one begins to pay serious dividends as our designer uses what he or she learned to create a website that mixes the best of what your competitors are doing with the elements of your business that make it unique, plus just a dash of the designer’s personal touch.
Once the design is ready to go, you will be consulted so that we can make any necessary revisions before going forward. Our designers are creatives professionals with long track-records of successful work; we think that you’ll be pleased with what they come up with.
After you approve the designer’s work, we can begin to develop the site. This is where themes are created, plugins are implemented, content is laid in, and your website is built. There are two aspects to development: front-end and back-end.
The back-end is the side of your website that you will use to manage your content, create new pages, add plugins, update security, and evaluate the way that customers are using your website. Different employees can be given different “privileges,” which dictate the level of control they have over the site. The back-end is designed to be intuitive, but just in case you have any trouble, we create custom tutorials to help you manage your site. You can also contact My Freelance Team support with any questions or concerns that arise.
The side of your website that your users see is called the front-end. The front-end is comprised of content that is added in the back-end and then interpreted through your theme. During this stage, we tailor a bespoke theme to match the vision that you and the designer came up with in the last step. All of our sites are built from the ground up to ensure compatibility across major browsers and devices, including mobile.
Testing & Launch
Before your new site can be launched, it will require extensive testing. We’ll put it through the paces using multiple browsers and devices to ensure that your customers will be able to get the full experience regardless of how they are viewing your site. We will make sure that there are no broken links, errors, or missing information before handing it over to you for your own inspection.
Once you are satisfied, we will begin the launch process. It’s no rocket ship, but it’s still pretty exciting. This will require a nameserver change so that your URL directs to the newly created site. If we set up your domain or if you choose to give us access to your domain name registrar, we can handle this process for you. Otherwise, we’ll send over detailed instructions for you to do it yourself. A short 24 hours after this is complete, your new website will be live. Go you!
